Sugar Rush Series

Dates: 2019-Present.

These drawings express the language of excess and consequence. The role of the predator and the prey have been reversed within this cage of complex carbohydrates. The presence of an animal skull represents a traditional predator, but it also speaks to the fragility and fleeting nature of life. The artificial architecture of these overindulgent spaces represents a new predator encased saccharine sweet genetically modified and ultra-processed foods. They are portraits in flux anchored by our cultural obsession with the artificial and detrimental.
